Timeless is always in style, and I love seeing couples find meaningful ways to honor their families on their wedding day. Annie walked down the aisle at Vizcaya wearing her mom’s wedding gown, giving something already so special an entirely new chapter.Classic, personal, and a beautiful reminder that some things never go out of style.Just before family portraits, her mom saw her in it for the first time and you could feel the joy in knowing your gown gets to share the love of another ceremony. That’s the thing about heirloom pieces, they carry so much more than fabric and lace. 🤍If you’re thinking about incorporating something of your mom’s (or grandmother’s, or sister’s) into your wedding day, there are so many beautiful ways to do it that don’t require wearing the full gown down the aisle. Vizcaya in the morning is something entirely its own.Stephania and Mateo chose an early morning permit at Vizcaya Museum and Gardens and it made all the difference. Stone archways, ivy covered gazebos, the boat house sitting quietly on the water, sculpted gardens that feel like they belong somewhere in the Italian countryside and not another soul in sight. Just the two of them and fifteen acres of one of the most beautiful properties in Miami.A summer storm had rolled through before we started and cooled everything down, leaving the gardens soft and lush and perfectly lit. We moved through every corner of the property at our own pace and there was something really special about having that space completely to ourselves.And true to Florida summer form, just as we were wrapping up the rain found us again at the fountain. Mateo picked her up anyway. They laughed through all of it.Honestly it was one of my favorite moments of the session.If you are planning an engagement session in Miami, an early morning permit at Vizcaya is one of the most beautiful and underused options available.
