A Romantic South Florida Engagement Session in Historic Coral Gables

Historic Prado Entrance

Samantha and Daniel choose landmarks in historic Coral Gables for their South Florida engagement session. They wanted their Coral Gables engagement session to match the style of their upcoming winter wedding at the Biltmore Hotel. Historic Coral Gables offers so many beautiful locations to photograph your engagement session. We started at Prado Entrance, where I got to meet their FurBaby, Oliver. He was dressed in the most adorable bow tie, adding a formal element to his perfect puppy face.

It is helpful to bring a friend to your session who can help with watching your furbaby, to allow for a few photos of the two of you alone!

Prado entrance is a beautiful location to being your engagement session. There are two stone walkways with wood covered trellises aligned with blooming bougainvillea giving you the feeling of walking through a private  garden, in a historic Coral Gables Landmark.

Coral Gables City Hall Engagement Session

I often look for locations that I have never photographed anyone in before, and the steps of Coral Gables City Hall was a first for me! Designed in 1927 in Mediterranean Revival Style, it is a beautiful architectural backdrop for engagement photos.

DeSoto Plaza Fountain

I have always wanted to stop and take portraits the De Soto Plaza Fountain. having driven around it many times on my way to photograph weddings in Coral Gables. Grateful that Samantha and Daniel loved this location, as the sun started to set on a perfect Sunday afternoon. Just a few traffic free minutes was all we needed to capture the late afternoon light their natural connection to each other.

Engagement sessions are more than another opportunity to post new pics on Facebook and Instagram, though—we must confess—that part is pretty enjoyable, too. Engagement sessions provide exquisite images that can be displayed in your home, used in announcements, on wedding websites, and even as décor at your rehearsal dinner, ceremony and reception.

Are you getting married and not sure where to take engagement photos in South Florida? I’d love to hear from you! Head over to my contact page and send me an email I would be happy to chat about locations!

Engagement Session Tips!

Why should you schedule a South Florida Engagement Session

Engagement sessions are more than another opportunity to post new pics on Facebook and Instagram, though—we must confess—that part is pretty enjoyable, too. Engagement sessions provide exquisite images that can be displayed in your home, used in announcements, on wedding websites, and even as décor at your rehearsal dinner, ceremony and reception.

Where should we have our engagement session?

Set in a location of your choice—be it a beachside resort or your very own backyard.. Whether you’re trendy or traditional, in formalwear or flip-flops, we can design your engagement session to reflect you, your style, your taste, and your relationship.

Should I have a hair and make up trial before our engagement session?

Yes! I cannot think of a better way to maximize the investment of having your hair and make up done. Even though your hair style for your engagement session might be different then you actual wedding day, its the perfect way to connect with your stylist before your big day and see how you will photograph.

I also recommend going out with your fiance for dinner or drinks afterwards! You are all dressed up, you might as well continue the FUN!

Are destination engagement sessions an option?

Yes please! Live somewhere else, like NYC, and want to shoot an engagement session – I am always excited for new locations and for you to take me an a tour of your city!  Fall in love in your college town, or want to head to the Islands for a session – I am ready to go!
